Then finally a manager looking woman came and asked how everything was. Still waiting for beverages and our order. Then randomly two small donuts showed up at our table of 8 unexplained. Someone at our table stopped another staff member and asked them to help us. Then she left and waited a long time for any coffees to arrive, we were well past wanting to order. She then explained that they were doing a “brunch menu, and that brunch was a mix of lunch and breakfast”(that drew laughs from all of us). She said there were specials like “maybe steak and eggs but had to check”. So this waitress took our order for coffee. I said i was not waiting for Amanda and we needed our order now. She came back and said “Amanda was coming in a few minutes”. At a half hour as we watched other tables fill up and get their order taken and food arrive, we asked someone walking by to please take our order. A busser got us water but then we waited a long time with all of our party now seated the staff neglected to do anything else. Most of us arrived shortly before the time, a few were lost coming in because the hotel entrance is not well marked, but all arrived by 11:20am. I had a party of 8 that I had reserved about two weeks prior. Reservations are required and well worth it! Would definitely recommend it. My friend ordered the electric lemon burger, medium rare, which I enjoyed sampling, was cooked to perfection and very juicy. It was delicious and well served along with the perfect sauce and all the extras on the plate were obviously well planned because it’s not just for looks, dive all the way in trust me. It gave the oysters a different tangy flavor that just removed the “fish” taste. I sparingly used some on my oysters & to my surprise it was delicious as long as you don’t over do the toppings. Last time I had a drink this good I was on a cruise it was exceptional, I loved it! The appetizer I ordered were the oysters, came with six, and served with radish, peppers & onions. My high expectations were met! For my drink I ordered the Spicy Sunset. The scenery is gorgeous, and the view could be one of the best in New York City, you have clear views of the ocean. Outside you’ll see the Vessel, a beautiful monument where you get a view of whether you eat in or outside. The waiters were dressed elegantly and professional, my customer service experience was exceptional. I had high expectations from the pictures I saw flooding the internet. To get to the Electric Lemon take the elevator up to the 24th floor of the Equinox Hotel.
